Art competition for primary 4 to 6 pupils (National Fire & Civil Emergency Preparedness Council)


The National Fire & Civil Emergency Preparedness Council (NFEC) is organising an Art competition for all Primary 4 to 6 pupils. The objective of the competition is to create greater awareness of fire prevention and civil emergency preparedness among the students through the use of art.
Attractive book vouchers will be given away as prizes. They are as follows:

1st prize  $200
2nd prize  $150
3rd prize  $100
10 Consolation prizes: $50 each

Rules and Regulations

1.         The theme for this year’s competition is "Be Responsible : Be Prepared for Emergencies”
2.         All art pieces should be done on A3 Art paper using any medium of own choice.
3.         The name, level and school of the participant must be clearly displayed on the back (Bottom right corner) of the artwork.
4.         Each school can submit a maximum of 3 entries.
5.         All entry forms duly endorsed by the School Principal, are to be submitted together with the students’ works to Clementi Primary School by Fri 19 Jul 2013.
6.         The judges’ decision is final.
7.         All winners will be informed through their respective schools.

Design an "Anti-Drug" Flag contest (For Primary 4 and 5 pupils only)

Form a group of 3 to 4 members and design a flag with the theme "Life Does Not Rewind. Make the Right Choice". All members of the top 15 winning flags will receive attractive  goodie bags!

Guidelines:

1. You can use any type of paper. The recommended size is A3.
2. You may decorate your flag in any way that you like. (e.g. crayons, paint, coloured papers, recycled materials etc.)
3. The slogon "Life Does Not Rewind. Make the Right Choice" has to be included in your design.
4. Include the following information behind your design:
  • short description (no more than 100 words) of your flag
  • group members' names
  • class

Punggol Neighbourhood Watch Day Art Competition 2013



Objective
 The objective of the art competition is to draw and design a crime prevention poster for a specified crime.
Eligibility
·      The competition is ONLY open to children aged 6 – 12 years, as of 2 Jan 2013.
·      Each child shall submit ONLY one entry. All drawings are to be completed and submitted on the event day. Entries must consist of original ideas produced wholly by the respective participant(s). Entries which are deemed by the judges to be direct adaptations or plagiarisms of existing materials will be disqualified.

Theme
·      For children aged 6 – 9 years old : “Do not talk to strangers” or “Do not take things from strangers”
·      For children aged 10 – 12 years old : “Bicycle Theft” or “Shop Theft”

Entry Rules
·      All submitted entries must be designed in the provided A4 sized drawing paper.
·      Each participant will be given 2 pieces of drawing paper.
·      Participants are encouraged to bring their own media to create their own poster. They can also use the form of media provided by the organiser, e.g., colour pencils, crayons, however, please note that the colours are limited.
·      Registration starts at 3.45pm and participants shall submit their artwork by 5pm.
·      Participants shall register their interest to punggolcop@gmail.com by 11 January with the following details; otherwise they can register on the event day (27 Jan 2013) at 3.45pm.

Evaluation Criteria
·      The panel of judges will comprise of Ms. Penny Low and Dr. Janil Puthucheary, MPs for Pasir-Ris Punggol GRC and one representative from Punggol NPC.

·      The judges will select 3 winners based on highest score using the following criteria:

          Originality                                                                               : 30%
          Creativity                                                                                : 30%
          Effectiveness of conveying crime prevention message         : 40%
          (e.g.: Is the crime prevention message clear and concise?)
                                                                                              Total    : 100%

·      All decisions and scores made by the panel judges are final.

Prizes
Champion        : Trophy and vouchers worth $75
1st runner up   : Trophy and vouchers worth $50
2nd runner up   : Trophy and vouchers worth $25
Rights
1)      Punggol NPC reserves the rights to the winning and selected entries in print, broadcast and electronic media without requiring the permission from the participant.
2)      The winning entries shall remain as the property of the Punggol NPC who reserves the right to use them in any manner deemed fit.
3)      Punggol NPC will not be liable for any copyright infringement on the part of the participants on their entries.
4)      The submission of any entry signifies acceptance of the above rules and regulations. Non-compliance may result in disqualification.

HeartlanD Beat Art Competition 2013

The HeartlanD Beat Art Competition 2013 is organised in conjunction with the Good Neighbour Award 2013 to further engage the young and youth. This year, the competition is extended to Secondary school students with an additional Category C.

Through the use of art, the competition serves to:
• understand students’ perspective of an Active and Cohesive HDB Community,
• create awareness on promoting better social behaviours, and
• foster bonds and integration in the HDB Heartland Communities.

With the theme “Friends Next Door”, the competition aims to imbue the importance of neighbourly interaction in fostering active and cohesive communities.

Students from all Primary and Secondary Schools are invited to join the competition.

Category A
Category B
Category C
Primary 1, 2 and 3
Primary 4, 5 and 6
Secondary 1 - 5

Artwork Requirements
The content of all entries submitted must be related to the competition theme – Friends Next Door.
Students are to draw according to the theme and will be scored according to the judging criteria. Inability to draw in line with the judging criteria will result in a lower score during judging session.
All entries must be 2-dimensional, pictorial and the artwork must be done on A3-size drawing paper or drawing block paper.
Participants are allowed to use different mediums (crayon, water colours, poster paint, etc) in the creation of the artwork.
Each entry must be an original and unpublished work of the participant and copyrighted work will not be accepted. The submitted entry shall not have been entered in any other competitions whether locally or internationally.
No watermarks, signatures or other identifying marks will be allowed on any entry submitted for the competition. Housing & Development Board (HDB) reserves the right to disqualify any entry bearing such marks.

'Fundamentals Against Crime Tactics' (FACT) Poster Design Competition on 2 Feb 2013

Objective
To allow primary school youths, based on their understanding of crime prevention, work in a small group to design their own unique and creative posters.

Date/ Venue
Date: 2 February 2013, Saturday
Time: 8am to 11am
Location: Blk 564 Ang Mo Kio Street 54, Hard court

Eligibility
The competition is open ONLY to Primary 3 to 5 students, enrolled as of 1st January 2013, in Primary schools located within the jurisdiction of Ang Mo Kio Police Division.

Each school shall submit ONLY one entry. All entries are to be submitted in group of not more than three students. Entries must consist of original ideas produced wholly by the respective participant(s). Entries which are deemed by the judges to be direct adaptations or plagiarisms of existing materials will be disqualified.

Theme
The crime prevention design theme can be revolving around robbery, housebreaking, snatch theft, outrage of modesty, motor vehicles theft, scam, bully, cybercrime, thefts, rioting or gangs, etc.

Entry Rule
  • All submitted entries must be designed vertically in A3 size (length of 42cm/420mm by width of 29.7cm/297mm).
  •  The poster design must be relate to the theme of the competition. All entries must be accompanied with a crime prevention tagline or slogan (e.g. low crime doesn’t mean no crime).
  •  All entries can be designed in any form of hand drawing, colouring, computer graphic, graphic software or any other kind of design methods.
  • All entries shall be completed before the competition date and must be brought to the event for judging.
  •  A parents/guardians’ consent form will be given to the all participating schools. Students representing the school for the competition event will need to obtain consent from their parents/guardians.
  • All participating students shall wear their respective school uniform and be accompanied by a school teacher representative on the event competition date.
Evaluation Criteria
·      The judges will select 10 winners based on highest score using the following criteria:

          Originality: 25
          Innovative: 25
          Creativity: 25
          Effectiveness of conveying crime prevention message: 25
          (eg: Is the crime prevention message clear and concise?)
               Total    : 100

·      All decisions and scores made by the panel judges are final.

Prizes
The ten winners will walk away with the following prizes.
1) Champion                   - $300 Popular Bookstore vouchers + Trophy
2) 1st Runner up              - $250 Popular Bookstore vouchers + Trophy
3) 2nd Runner up              - $200 Popular Bookstore vouchers + Trophy
4) Two merit awards         - $100 Popular Bookstore vouchers each
5) Five consolation awards - $50 Popular Bookstore voucher each
 
Copyright and Intellectual Property Issues
·      All submitted entries shall become the property of Ang Mo Kio Police Division and may be used for the purpose of running crime prevention campaigns. The top-winner poster will be showcased in the crime prevention display panel in each of the 9 NPCs in Ang Mo Kio Police Division.


All submitted entries may be used for the purpose of marketing and promotions by Ang Mo Kio Police Division with or without relation to its products and services as well as events organised or sponsored by them, including but not limited to the competition. Ang Mo Kio Police Division may, in their absolute discretion and in such manner as they deem fit, use the entries or parts of the entries for the said purposes without any reference to or acknowledgement of the participants.

The 4th SMART Drawing Competition

Theme: My Dream House

Theme
SMART Expos is proud to support the community and promote students' awareness for energy conservation and a green environment.
The theme of the drawing competition is "My Dream House". The competition will give students the opportunity to enhance their awareness of conserving energy or the use of environmentally friendly materials, as well as the opportunity to express their aspiration for their own dream home that they wish to live in.
Entry Category
The competition is open for two age groups:
  1. Age 6-9
  2. Age 10-13
Submission Date & Time: 8-9 September 2012 (Sat & Sun) 11am - 7pm
Venue : Hall A, Sands Expo & Convention Center, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore

  2. All participants must submit their drawing entries IN PERSON OR VIA THEIR PARENTS at the SMART Investment & International Property Expo on 8 - 9 Sep 2012 (Saturday & Sunday) at Hall A, Sands Expo & Convention Center, Marina Bay Sands (10 Bayfront Avenue) which is open from 11am - 7pm.
     
  3. Each participant must include their FULL NAME, AGE, SCHOOL / ORGANIZATION, PARENT'S NAME, MOBILE NO. & EMAIL ADDRESS on the back of their drawing entry upon submission.

EYEC Art Contest
